Biography

Born in 1963, from parents of Acadian origins, in the well known village of Mont-Tremblant in the Saint-Jovite area (mountainous region of the Laurentians in the province of Quebec, Canada), she moves at a very young age in the picturesque historical region of Deux-Montagnes, where she still lives today. |

At a very tender age, all artistic medium and all arts materials were witness to her artistic progression. Drawing, painting, sculpture and photography in particular got her special attention. In 1980, she pursues her training in Visual Arts at the Lionel-Groulx college of Ste-Thérèse and in 1982 in Graphic Arts at the Ahuntsic college of Montreal. |

In 1987, she discovers the magnificence of oil paintings that she adapts it to a multitude of subjects that catches her interest. She pursues her courses in oil painting during 7 years, always searching for new angles for that technique. Then in 1990 she embarks on a 2 year training with watercolors a art form that charm her by its transparenciesand lightness, which brings a another dimension to her creation and a fresh touch in her works. |

In 1991 a new challenge takes place: to transmit her artistic knowledge as a teacher through drawing and oil painting courses. Another skill is offered to her artistic surge. The children's creations particularly captivate her by their simplicity, their naive and dreamy forms, but their créations remains well attached to their daily lives. The oil painting classes given to adults bring new daily challenges and also bring her to solve difficulties that otherwise would not have been part of her research and her artistic progression. |

In 1992 occurs an interest that still passions her today: computer infographic. The possibilities offered by that technique fascinate her and her creation is transformed. It simplifies the visual aspect of her artistic surge which becomes complementary to her works production. Infographic has an impact on her artistic practice. |

It is also at that time, that her attention is focussed on a more traditional aspect of evolution and exchange between artists. She experience the coordination of arts shows for groups, as much in visual arts as in trade arts. She becomes the art director of the Cultiv'Art art gallery of the apple orchard Le Cultiv'Art of Oka. |

Like all artists conscious of it's social duty, she gets involved with great interest in the safeguard of the planet and the well being of the society: patrimony heritage and environment are her preferred predilection. It is for that reason that she sat on various comities from 1988 to 1996. She also worked as a researcher for APMAQ (Association for the protection of ancient houses of Quebec-section ancient architecture). |

She
also was a graphic designer from 1989 to 1991 and then for the same
association was the general director from 1991 to 1995, of a that
regional association for popularization , protection , éducation and
safeguard of the environment call the CLE, better known as the Local
Ecological Center of the Lower Laurentians. From 1994 to 1995 she also
sat on the board of the foundation of the Régional council of
environnement in the Laurentides, the CRELA. |

She often leaves to resource herself and rebalance her energy in Acadia, in the forest near the sea, the land of her ancestors, land of her heart. The visual and emotional memories she gathers pushes her to paint more realistic sceneries, empregnated with a touch of dream,of softness and of light that brings her paint brush to fairy bonds. |

One of her oil paintings stand out more in a particular way, the one titled « L'hymne de la paix» (Hym to peace). Produced during the Persian Gulf war in 1992, that painting has touched the spectators during two seperate expositions. It was given two awards: a gold medallion and a prize from the public. For that matter the artist has kept it in her private collection. |

Since 1996, she devotes herself intensely to her art and symbolism takes a great importance in her works with a more dream-related character. In parallel, she participates actively to diverse group demonstrations and arts shows in her region. From 1998 to 2004, she gave private oil painting courses and learned a lot from her students, everyone bringing their own challenges. |

Towards the year 2000, emerges in her a new mixed technic. Ink and watercolors allow her to unite her graphics arts and painter notions in detailed creations, under aboriginal themes where remarquable exotic animals take form. She also develops a certain assurance on the writing level and dares to unveil her thoughts in poems and poetic texts, published on her web site in french. Those poems are like small paintings in her mind but with words. |

In 2006, one of her works illustrates the cover of a book publish in France that is dear to her, «Les Nouvelles frontières de l'astrologie»(The New Frontiers of astrology). This work is a reference on micro-astrology and spirituality. A nice honor for the work named «Odysée cent visages» (Odyssey one hundred faces) that lives once more with futuristic colors, galactic and a spiritual «Sednaien» aspect, very representative of the artist. |

She continues to coordinate the activities of the Cultiv'Art Art gallery situated in an apple orchard in the village of Oka Quebec, which, since 2003 shines more and more in Quebec and in France. She devotes many hours to it, happy to share with her peers. This involvement brings her a new form of creation, a passion that nourishes her artistically and personally. |
